Meditation ClassesI have been teaching meditation for more than 22 years with an emphasis on Chakra meditation which in a nutshell are the core energy centers of the human body. It is the definitive way to still the mind Meditation in its truest form has been medically proven to reduces stress, improve sleep and increases awareness. It also lowers the pulse and heart rate and gives the body a chance to reclaimate.
Since the 1960s, meditation has been the focus of increasing scientific research In over 1,000 published research studies, various methods of meditation have been linked to changes in metabolism, blood pressure, brain activation, and other bodily processes. Meditation has been used in clinical settings as a method of stress and pain reduction as well. Adding meditation to your routine brings many positive physical, mental and spiritual benefits. Meditation is sometimes used for healing purposes. It is becoming more common in medicine as a way to reduce pain and stress. Many studies have measured the effects of meditation on the respiratory and cardiovascular systems.
It is believed that there are seven main energy centers called the chakras in the body. In my practice I have been teaching Chakra mediation for more than 22 years as I find its benefits to be indisputable when it comes to many areas of emotional and physical healing. Meditation is used to open and release blockages that are believed to be linked to disease. Each of the energy chakras in the body is also believed to relate to the health of various aspects of the body. The chakras are used in Ayurveda medicine for healing in India, as well. I have a great deal of expertise in this subject since I have taught thousands how to meditate in my nearly 18 years of mentoring and guiding folks. |

It is also the definitive gateway to spiritual awakenings and evolution. My counseling sessions typically end with prayer and a 15 min meditation as I have seen the results work time and time again. When a client is emoting, upset over their problems or an issue it is rare that solutions will be found for it is in the calm quiet that higher solutions reveal themselves.
There are many ways to meditate and in fact many of my gentlemen clients tell me they get into a form of meditation while running…that “runners high” is for many a way to think and release stress. There are meditations utilizing music, staring at a singular object such as a leaf or candle flame. There are toning meditations using Tibetan bowls or indigenous drums and even Yoga and Tai chi are forms of meditation. However true meditation does not involve thinking at all, quite the contrary.
But true meditation is silent, calm quiet …I call it flat lining the brain waves because that is precisely what you are doing…I tell my clients if they are furrowing their brow their brain waves are active. Yogis in India have been studied over the years and when they are in a deep state of meditation their brain waves are practically flat on a cat scan. Many find it difficult to empty out their thoughts and let go of their ego but practice is the key to refining and honing meditation and reaching new heights of awareness. Additionally deep steady breathing, oxygenating the cells relaxes the muscles and slows down the pulse and heart rate. I have many of my clients use the mantra “Peace Be Still” because you are commanding the brain and whatever you tell your brain, your body responds to. When you breathe deeply you inevitably succumb to the peace. Not only can you add years to your life but the wisdom you access makes the effort of learning to meditate all the more worthwhile.
Meditation just makes good sense as well…Beginning your day with calm clarity, with guidance and centeredness will increase your productivity and enhance your life’s experiences.
I highly encourage you to learn to meditate and don’t get discouraged if it takes you several tries to get it right. Practicing how to be still and quiet has more benefits that I can here name. I offer classes on a sliding scale for anyone who wants to learn to meditate; I feel it is just that important. I recommend a minimum of 3 classes and make it affordable for everyone.
